FES Treatment
Functional Electrical Stimulation (FES) uses controlled electrical impulses to activate muscles during a functional activity. It is commonly used to assist with foot drop while walking. Suitability and device settings are considered as part of an assessment; treatment may be combined with gait practice and balance exercises.
