Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about our services, appointments and treatments at Fenland Physio.
Do I need a GP referral?
No referral is needed. You can book directly with us. However, if you’re using health insurance, please check with your insurer first as some require a GP referral.
How long is a first appointment?
Initial consultations are typically 45β60 minutes. This allows time for a thorough assessment, diagnosis, and the start of your treatment plan.
How many sessions will I need?
This varies depending on your condition and goals. Many patients see significant improvement in 3β6 sessions. We’ll give you a realistic estimate after your initial assessment.
Do you accept health insurance?
Yes, we work with all major health insurance providers including BUPA, AXA Health, WPA and Cigna. Please contact your insurer before booking to confirm your cover.
What should I wear to my appointment?
Wear comfortable, loose-fitting clothing that gives easy access to the area being treated. For lower limb conditions, shorts are ideal. For back or shoulder issues, a vest or t-shirt is recommended.
Is physiotherapy painful?
Treatment may cause some mild discomfort when working on injured or tight areas, but should not be painful. Our therapists will always work within your comfort levels and adjust accordingly.
Can I book online?
Yes! You can book appointments online 24/7 through our Cliniko booking system. Simply click “Book An Appointment” on any page, choose your service and a convenient time.
Do you offer home visits?
We primarily treat patients at our Ely clinic. Please contact us to discuss your specific needs if you have difficulty attending in person.
